What we do

The Xavier Network has been set up to help member organisations work together, where this can increase the impact of our activities on behalf of vulnerable people around the world.

In a spirit of international partnership, we seek to join forces in the following areas:

Humanitarian emergencies
We jointly provide funds and expertise to partners on the frontline, and communicate with one voice to connect donor communities with those in crisis.

Advocacy
By joining our voices together, we aim to increase the pressure we exert on decision makers to change unjust structures that adversely impact the communities we support.

Overseas volunteer programmes
We cooperate on placements for volunteers working in our projects and missions worldwide, developing shared standards and training.

Development projects
We seek ways to coordinate field activities, run development projects in common and
share best practices.

Our collaboration operates on many levels, sharing experience, partnering on projects and carrying out joint training. When a humanitarian crisis such as Hurricane Matthew in Haiti occurs, for example, the Xavier Network immediately activates, allocating a lead agency for the disaster, coordinating members’ contributions and drawing down the best resources in terms of personnel and supplies. In this way we can maximise our combined impact.
